Thank you, voters, for selecting Zillow as the People’s Voice Winner in the Real Estate Category of the 15th Annual Webby Awards. Not only did we win the vote from the people — YOU — but we also won the overall Webby Award in the Real Estate category.
What are the Webby’s? They were started in 1996 and “honor excellence on the Internet,” by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which includes leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities. The Academy evaluates websites in nearly 70 categories based on content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity, and overall experience.
Members include such celebs as musicians Beck and David Bowie, Internet inventor Vint Cerf, political columnist Arianna Huffington, Real Networks CEO Rob Glaser, “The Simpsons” creator Matt Groening, as well as writers and editors from publications such as The New York Times, Wired, Details, Fast Company, Elle, and The Los Angeles Times.
This is a great honor because it’s our job at Zillow to help people become smarter about homes, real estate and mortgages by providing the best data, tools and resources for people of all stages of home ownership. It’s also what we love to do!
This is our fourth Webby. In 2008, we won the Real Estate Award and in 2010, we won the People’s Voice Award for Real Estate.
Again, thanks for your vote!
