Last month, Zillow opened a new office in Lincoln, NE, which is home to Mortech®, a company that Zillow acquired last November. Mortech is a software business that provides tools to mortgage lenders such as auto quoting, lead management and lock desk tools. Appropriately, Mortech is smack dab in the middle of a thriving tech region dubbed the “Silicon Prairie.”
The grand opening of the new Lincoln, NE office gave the Zillow Mortgage Marketplace and Mortech teams plenty of valuable face time as Zillow employees arrived from Seattle, San Francisco, and Orange County. “Visiting our Mortech team for five days straight was so beneficial to both of our teams, said Andrea Smolin, project manager for the Zillow Mortgage Marketplace team. “During our trip we were able to cross-train with so many different people and departments but also forge deep personal bonds between our two teams.” The festivities lasted all week, and the official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The new office will house primarily the Mortech team, which plans to staff more than 50 employees in its new space. The list of events also included an employee appreciation day, an employee tailgate, and a one-day user conference for local Mortech customers that highlighted the benefits of online lending and pricing-engine integrations. The best news? Zillow’s Mortech team is currently hiring software developers and customer support representatives at the Lincoln office. If you are interested, please visit Zillow’s jobs page. The Mortech team even turned a few Seattleites into loyal Nebraska Cornhusker fans along the way!
