For the fourth consecutive year, Zillow has been named one of Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Millennials (#66 on the list this year), an honor that reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering our employees, no matter where they are in life’s journey.
This award — based on survey feedback directly from Zillow employees — is being given in conjunction with Fortune Magazine and Great Place to WorkⓇ. Eighty-five percent of the evaluation is based on what millennials say about their experiences of trust and ability to reach their full potential at Zillow, no matter who they are or what they do. The remaining fifteen percent of the ranking is based on their feedback about daily experiences of innovation, the company’s values and the effectiveness of Zillow leaders.
“Now more than ever, employees seek out organizations with strong core values,” says Zillow Vice President of Equity and Belonging Crystal Tomczyk. “Zillow is powered by our inclusive work culture, and this recognition validates our intentional focus on creating an environment where our employees experience a true sense of belonging while doing some of the most impactful and innovative work of their careers.”
The Great Place to Work survey analyzed anonymous survey results from hundreds of companies and more than 4.5 million people. It shows that the style of leadership millennials model and seek to emulate is that of a diverse and inclusive workplace. It’s about partnership and being guided by shared values; and it’s about recognizing the important role companies play in giving employees the time, space and resources to care for loved ones — especially true for millennials who are working parents.
For Zillow employees, that support is realized in the benefits we offer. Among them: generous health care coverage and ample time off, extended maternity and paternity leave, tuition reimbursement, and newly added this year in response to COVID-19 — paid caregiver leave, flexible work schedules and the ability to work remotely.
At Zillow, one of the beliefs that drives everything we do is “Better Together.” That phrase — and mindset — has never been more true than it is today. Finding ways to support our people and sustain a culture in which everyone can do their best work is as important as anything else we do.
