Earlier today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Zillow co-founder and Executive Chairman Rich Barton helped kick off the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. This is the fourth annual GES and the largest yet with more than 4,000 attendees from 132 countries.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry delivered the opening address, appearing alongside Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Barton will deliver a keynote following the theme of the conference, “Empowering and Connecting Entrepreneurs.” The session will be webcast live on YouTube tonight at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m.PT (Saturday at 9 a.m. conference time).
Barton is also participating in a number of official events, including:
- A private roundtable with U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and 20 entrepreneurs
- Serving as a judge for the Global StartUp Youth Awards
- A roundtable lunch with finalists of the Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST)
The GES is a platform to facilitate the exchange of views and ideas between global business leaders and entrepreneurs and strengthen alliances among entrepreneurs around the world.
