Picture this: You are out for a walk in a great neighborhood, and your Android Wear suddenly notifies you that an open house is just a block away. Your watch then proceeds to give you exact directions to the home and signals when you are in front of the house. Once you get a thorough tour, you can record voice notes with details of the perfect home, which are then synced with your Zillow account.
No, you aren’t watching an episode of “The Jetsons.” You’ve tapped in to the new notifications functionality available for Android Wear. Zillow Real Estate for Android users can now receive alerts that show them details on favorite homes and open houses, all synced across their app and Zillow account.
Using geofencing technology to sense a user’s proximity to a favorite home or an open house, the notifications on Android Wear provide users information related to these homes directly from their context stream. When you are within 1 kilometer of a home you’ll receive a prompt indicating your location in relation to a home you have saved as a favorite within your Zillow account, or an open house nearby. The notification will include a thumbnail of the home in the background, along with an option to view additional summary details. You can even use Android Wear to navigate directly to the home.
Once within 50 meters of the open house or favorite home, you’ll receive an at-property alert. Notifications also allow you to save a voice note directly on your watch about the property, and that note is saved to your Zillow account to help keep track of impressions of the home.
The technology has been developed to ensure a seamless experience between Android Wear and the Android app – if you open home notification details on the watch you can transfer directly to the phone to view more information and photos on that home.
Pretty incredible, right? All you need to do is update to the latest version of our Android app and it will automatically sync with an Android Wear device.
