Not only do we work hard with wrestling lots of data and delivering Zestimates, but we work hard at having fun. We even have a culture committee whose main responsibility is keeping the troops creative, happy and inspired. For example, we ended the year with the “Zillow Cheese Ball.” For this event, employees were asked to turn out in their “cheesiest 80’s-themed attire.” Out came baby blue tuxes, “Members Only” jackets, fish-net stockings, leg-warmers, three-quarter length sleeved jackets, oversized earrings, and anything else that would channel Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, and Don Johnson. We’ve come to learn that inhibition does not exist at Zillow, as evidenced by the Cheese Ball King and Queen in the center, flanked by their “court” of developers and program managers.
Another end-of-year get-together was a day at Crystal Mountain, which is located a couple of hours south of Seattle. About 40 hearty souls seized the day, with a few even taking on the double black diamond trails.
Group shot! Thank goodness consignment and Goodwill stores don’t have a lot of vintage ski wear, otherwise, I would’ve suspected a cheesy ski theme.
